ONLY 48 HOURS UNTIL THE BIG DAYLately I had the bug for a house. However, in our current financial situation we could only afford to finance about $150,000 or less. I based this figure on those various online calculators and what nots. I haven't actually sought guidance or pre-approval from an actual financial institution, that would actually be something to do when we are more financially stable for home ownership (which I don't think we are at the moment). With that price range in mind, I scoured the real estate listings online and have only come up with condo's and land. Scott and I have vowed to never move into a condo. We hate them. period. Land, the problem is once we purchase it we can't afford to do anything with it. So, I have laid to rest the hopes of purchasing a home within the next year or two (keeping a faithful eye on listings though).
With the house bug temporarily set aside, there is now debate. Do we stay in our apartment until we are ready for home ownership, or do we search for a new apartment in August and wait it out there? There are pro's and con's to both. However, I think it would be wise to stay where we are. The only way that could be survivable is to re-decorate.
We have added some newer touches here and there. However, I think it is time to really make use of our spaces and get the most out of our rooms. I am hoping it will revive the apartment so that in August we don't look at everything as say fuck it, lets find a new place.
Now, with Ikea opening up so close and my renewed love of HGTV, I am getting a flood of ideas in my head. Hopefully those can get out of my head into our apartment.

So, last night I was watching the Food Network and they had this show about a woman who started her own company up in Boston. The company is A Dozen Eggs. She does specialty cookies and I really hope that she succeeds! Hopefully I will have a reason to order from her soon!
